Classrooms, assembly halls, libraries and canteens. Spills, wear and 30 chair moves a day. We've delivered furniture cleaning for schools across Scandinavia since 1995, making the investment last.
We supply
The person who sees the wear every day is rarely the one who controls the budget.
A library where no one wants to sit doesn't get used. An assembly hall you're embarrassed to show off doesn't get booked. A classroom that looks neglected tells pupils something about what they're worth — and they read that message instantly.
The interior isn't decoration. It's part of the learning environment you're responsible for.
A classroom set of chairs costs a hundred thousand kroner. An assembly hall with 400 seats runs into millions. The furniture is meant to last 10–15 years, but often has to be replaced in half that time.
In the education sector, operations and procurement are rarely the same person, and often not even the same department. The facilities manager sees the wear daily, while the administration watches the budget. The result is deferred maintenance and a higher total cost over time.
Fiber ProTector changes the conversation: impregnation is a capital improvement that can typically be capitalised in the accounts. That moves the cost from the operating budget to the investment budget, and makes it easier to get approved.
"Can we move this out of the operating budget?" — a typical question from facilities to finance
Impregnation protects the furniture from new, and furniture cleaning for schools resets it once the wear has set in.
An invisible molecular layer around every fibre. Liquids, food spills and dirt stay on the surface — they bead off and wipe up in seconds, with no special products.
Dark lecture seats, stained canteen chairs and tired sofas are cleaned right down to the base. Spills and grease dissolve, and the colours are refreshed.
Furniture too worn for deep cleaning and too good to discard, we restore. It comes back with fresh colours and a near-new look.
This is what the cleaning and impregnation look like in practice — three short clips from technicians on the job.
Before and after treatment
Thorough deep cleaning
Protection that lasts
Since 1995 we've worked with everything from primary schools to major university buildings. We deliver quotes with lifespan extension, total cost and the depreciation argument, ready to be passed on. The technicians who deliver furniture cleaning for schools are certified to IICRC and WoolSafe standards, and you can read more about our textile protection and deep cleaning services.
Fiber ProTector treatment isn't a cleaning service, but a lasting increase in the value of your interiors that can typically be capitalised and depreciated. The cost moves from operations to investment, and the total cost over time drops significantly.
| Comparison over 10 years | Untreated | Treated |
|---|---|---|
| Furniture and textile lifespan | Baseline | Up to 50% longer + service agreement |
| Need for deep cleaning | Annually or more often | Every 2–3 years |
| Replacement within the planning period | 1–2 times | Typically none |
| Impact on the operating budget | High and unpredictable | Low and planned |
| Accounting treatment | Operating cost | Investment, capitalisable improvement |
The final accounting assessment is made by the institution's own finance department, in line with the regulations that apply to the municipal, county or central government sector.

Carpets and runners in assembly halls, libraries and common areas quickly show the effects of traffic, especially in the winter months. Thorough cleaning combined with protection makes them easier to maintain and gives a smarter overall impression.
Leather needs the right treatment to stay looking good over time. We treat leather furniture with dedicated formulas that preserve and extend the life of your leather interiors.
We restore the chair to as close to new condition as possible, while protecting it against future stains and damage.
If this needs to go to finance, here is the argument — short, clear and ready to send.
There is an important accounting difference between the two services we deliver, and that difference directly affects how the cost can be treated in your budget.
Impregnation gives the chair, the sofa or the carpet a property it did not have before. An untreated surface has no protection against liquid and dirt. After Fiber ProTector treatment, that same surface has a new and lasting property: liquid beads off, dirt does not soak in, and the textile's lifespan is extended by up to 50% — provided the maintenance programme is followed.
In accounting terms this is a capital improvement, not maintenance. Under current accounting principles and generally accepted accounting practice, such improvements can be capitalised and depreciated.
Deep cleaning on its own, by contrast, is maintenance. Deep cleaning restores a condition that existed before, and must as a rule be expensed directly as an operating cost.
| Deep cleaning only | Deep cleaning + impregnation | |
|---|---|---|
| Accounting treatment | Operating expense (maintenance) | Capital improvement (can be capitalised) |
| Impact on the operating budget | Full cost in year 1 | Spread over the depreciation period |
| Effect on interior lifespan | No lasting extension | Up to 50% longer + service agreement |
| Need for re-treatment | Yearly or more often | Every 3–5 years |
| Total cost over time | Higher | Lower |
The final accounting assessment is made by your organisation's own finance department, in line with applicable accounting legislation and the relevant rules for your sector.

A school’s interior is a significant investment: lecture theatre seats, canteen furniture, library sofas and carpet runners are meant to last 10–15 years. Fiber ProTector gives the furniture up to 50% longer life, is PFAS-free and safe in buildings where children and young people spend the whole day. Caretakers and cleaning staff are trained before we leave.
