1. Data controller

Fiber ProTector Norge AS, Grini Næringspark 1, 1361 Østerås, is the data controller for the personal data collected through our digital channels and in connection with service deliveries.

If you have questions about privacy, or wish to exercise your rights, you can contact us at sales@fiberprotector.com.

2. What we collect

We only collect data that is necessary to deliver our services and manage customer communication:

  • Contact details: name, email, phone number, company name and address — when you fill in a form or get in touch with us.
  • Assessment and project data: location, material types, areas and other information related to the specific delivery.
  • Website use: anonymised data about visits to our websites (page, time, referring page) — see the section on cookies below.
  • Communication: emails, phone notes and written correspondence in connection with quotes, delivery and follow-up.

3. Why we collect it

The processing has the following purposes:

  • Responding to enquiries, offering assessments and delivering services as agreed.
  • Documenting deliveries (treated area, date, product) for the customer, classification society or insurer.
  • Invoicing and meeting statutory requirements under the Norwegian Accounting Act and Bookkeeping Act.
  • Improving our websites, services and marketing communication.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data on the basis of:

  • Contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) — to fulfil our agreement with you as a customer, or to take steps at your request.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — in particular accounting and bookkeeping requirements.
  • Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for customer follow-up, security and website analytics. We always weigh the interest against the individual’s privacy.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for marketing and for cookies that are not strictly necessary.

5. Retention

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an agreement: normally deleted within 12 months.
  • Customer data for active customers: stored for as long as the customer relationship lasts.
  • Accounting and invoicing records: at least 5 years, in line with the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
  • Project documentation for warranty and follow-up: stored for the warranty period, normally up to 5 years.

6. Sharing of data

We do not share personal data with third parties, with the following exceptions:

  • Data processors providing services on our behalf (accounting, IT operations, email delivery). All are bound by data processing agreements.
  • Public authorities where we are required to by law.

We neither sell nor share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

7. Cookies

Our websites use a minimum of cookies. Necessary cookies are set automatically for the site to work. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set with your consent.

You can change or withdraw your consent in your browser at any time.

8. Your rights

Under the Norwegian Personal Data Act and the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Have data deleted when it is no longer necessary.
  • Restrict or object to the processing.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent where the processing is based on it.
  • Complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) if you believe the processing breaches the rules.

Requests are answered without undue delay, and at the latest within 30 days.

9. Security

We maintain technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or deletion. Employees are bound by confidentiality, and access is limited on a need-to-know basis.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated. In the event of material changes we will notify existing customers directly. The latest version is always available on this page.
